There are a diversity of policies available that have proven successful in building a market for renewable energy technologies. Many of these policies attempt to level the playing field, and remove many of the barriers that make renewable energy appear more expensive than it really is.
Collected here are a variety of policy and activity options available to local governments interested in expanding the use of renewable energy sources. There are many things that local governments can do to shift to renewable sources for their energy needs. The phases, or Guidance Milestones, that can be followed are:
